Archive for ‘Blog’
Added a new wallpaper – and with that I’m done for the day
Added a gallery page – working on putting up images as I type this.
Also added a blog link for “No More Heroes” on PS3 / 360 in the hope of getting free stuff (this is what having a proper site is all about, right?)
Currently looking into Project Wonderful in the hopes of bumping up site views. Kei says her Japanese blog gets ~2000 views a day and the English comic only gets ~20, and wants the imbalance fixed!
Made a facebook fan page as we have a proper domain and all now – next need to work out how to delete the group.
Once you’ve become a fan, you can go here to generate a “facebook pan page” that you can put on your website (if you want to, of course)

Just fixed the link!
Turned it on (well, installed a plug-in) – you can now use the arrow keys to move through the comic day-by-day (but not storyline-by-storyline it seems)
Current plan is to do brand new International Otaku Marriage at the weekends, and translate a comic from the archives during weekdays. This should mean that anyone who is coming here for the comedy of International Otaku Marriage won’t have another gap of 1 month or so for new stuff, and those of you who just want to read more of Kei’s comics get some sort of new update every day.

There’s been a problem with unfairness to a young person who wants to become a cartoonist.
When they uploaded one of their works, it was singled out for ridicule by several Japanese pro cartoonists.
look at it. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10735621
Japanese pro cartoonists:Shirow Miwa ,RyusukeHamamoto, and others.
RyusukeHamamoto drew the lovely mascot character of EVANGELION.
he is the person who drew the comic about Alan Moore as a schoolgirl.
he does not have morality as a comic artist.
Hopefully you will stay and read the site – become a fan on Facebook – and send us any requests you have. Oh and come back for new pages every day. You can download completed stories in CBR format from the “anthologies” page if you’d like convenient archives you can read on a smart-phone etc.
I’ve just fixed the link in Kei’s post and thought I’d take a minute to explain what has her so worked up.
A young Japanese wannabe-mangaka sent some sample work to the major Japanese publishers, where it ended up being circulated by a number of popular/famous mangaka, who were all pretty cruel about it – remember this is still a kid’s work, they’ve got years to mature yet before they hit the age that any of the pros who are commenting were when they started in Industry.
Kei knows full well how important support and advice from people who’ve made it in the industry is to anyone trying to enter – she was mentored for years by several well known people in the industry, and mentors young artists herself – and couldn’t believe anyone in her line of work could be so callous. As the people involved in the scandal are reasonably well known in the US, she wants to make sure that the American comics industry is aware of the scandal, and that the publishers know to her avoid – her dream is to do some work for DC, so the idea that someone so unworthy could be getting breaks for them or Marvel pains her. Again, the mangaka in question are Kotaro Mori (Gurenn Lagann), Miwa Shiro (Dogs / Hatsune Miku), Ryuusuke Hamamoto (PuchiEva / Alan Moore-chan), with Kotaro Mori apparently being the guy who (illegally) leaked the manga first.
